The Trauma Tree

Are you, are you
Hiding in the tree?
It harbours a child
Whom none could or would see
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the trauma tree

Are you, are you
Howling at the tree?
Where grown folk turned round
Playing no can see
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the trauma tree

Are you, are you
Dancing ‘round the tree?
Where pain taught us to run
So we could all be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the trauma tree

Are you, are you,
Coming to the tree?
Cry a river of hope
Side by side with me
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the trauma tree

Are you, are you
Hiding in the tree?
It harbours a child
Whom all can clearly see
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the trauma tree.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree?
It called to us to run
So now we can be free
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the trauma tree.
